DessertBoxes UX/UI Design

DESSERT BOXES
We were approached by Dessert Boxes to do a UX/UI makeover on their site as they were being featured on ‘Shark Tank’ and predicted a spike in page views. Their existing site was cluttered, unresponsive and lacked design. CONSIDERATIONS: it was important to understand the audience of the site and use language that reflected the brand, eased navigation and ensured conversions. The original design had no depth, this was combated with the use of large images, overlapping elements and a strong colour scheme. (Scroll down to see the old site)

THREE STEP CART METHOD:

  • A clean, simple solution to a long cart process.

  • Only allowing user to select one thing at a time.
For example, “Delivery”, icing out all CTAs unless user has selected delivery location and date.

  • Removing main menu to prevent users from being distracted by other links.

  • Hiding terms & conditions in an accordion to reduce an overwhelming amount of text

  • Upsell at cart triggers a popup where uses can click multiple products with one click to add to cart.

ADD TO CART UPSELL

  • Triggered when a user clicks “Add To Cart” on a product page.

  • Option to continue shopping, view cart or scroll through various categories of upsell products.

  • User can click “add to cart” on multiple products in multiple categories until they click “view cart" at the top or bottom of the popup.

  • When a user clicks “add the cart”, the button fills orange and changes to “added” - giving a clear signal to the user. When clicked again, the orange state returns to the purple ghost button.
